Fresh Ideas for Card Making
Watercolor Stamping with Flowers

Stamp with flowers picked right out of your garden for a unique watercolor look!

Here's How:
1. Collect flowers.  This technique works best if flowers are fairly flat with distinguished petals.  For example, a daisy.

For this project, I used a dandelion picked right out of my back yard.  At this time of the year, we have dandelions growing in abundance.  I always wait to mow them as they are one of the first food sources for bees in the spring.

2. Create your palette.  Add drops of ink refills into a plastic lid or similar.

For this project, I used Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry ink refills.  When the colors were mixed and stamped, the Melon Mambo became more of an orange color.

3. Spritz the drops of ink with water using a spray bottle to disperse.

4. Place the flower into the ink.

5. I also lightly spritzed the flower with water before stamping.

6. Spritz the watercolor paper with water, and stamp the flower.
.

7. Repeat and continue to stamp with the flower as desired.
8. Set the piece aside to dry completely.

Now to finish the card:
9. Add speckles for interest by using an Early Espresso marker.  To do this, place the wide brush just inside the cap of the marker and flick ink onto the card front.
10. Mat to a piece of Early Espresso card stock.
11. Stamp greeting from Dragonfly Dreams using Early Espresso ink.
12. Attach card front to Whisper White card base using Dimensionals.
