Lights of Aurora Cards, inspired by Northern Lights

When I first spotted the Lights of Aurora Designer Series Paper in the September–December Mini Catalog, it instantly brought back one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life—watching and photographing the Northern Lights right from my front porch in the mountains of Southern Colorado on a magical fall night in 2024.

The colors and patterns in the paper captured that same sense of awe and wonder.

Pure magic in a pack!

Here's my version based on my photograph above:

Aurora Lights Landscape

Instructions:

1.Create card:

-die-cut trees out of Basic Black card stock using die-cut machine and Light and Wonder die

-stamp greeting from Light and Wonder using Craft White ink

-heat emboss using heat tool and white embossing powder

-attach to Aurora Lights Designer Series Paper

-attach to Blackberry Bliss card base and add Frosted Iridescent Dots to complete

Supplies Used:

Stamp Set: Light and Wonder

Ink: White Craft

Paper: Basic Black, Blackberry Bliss, Lights of Aurora Designer Series Paper

Accessories: Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Light and Wonder Dies, heat tool, white embossing powder, Frosted Iridescent Dots

Aurora Lights Floating Frame

Instructions:

1.Create Floating Frame:

-attach 1/2" wide strips of Aurora Lights DSP to window sheet or transparency, leaving a small space in between strips

-die-cut trees out of Basic Black card stock and attach to DSP

-die-cut or punch a circle

2.Complete the card:

-attach circle to Aurora Lights DSP card front using Dimensionals. Place the Dimensionals on the strips of DSP so they don't show through the window sheet.

-stamp greeting from Sunshine Vibes using Blackberry bliss ink

-attach to Blackberry Bliss mat, then Berry Burst card base

-add Frosted Iridescent dots to complete

Supplies Used:

Stamp Set: Sunshine Vibes

Ink: Blackberry Bliss

Paper: Berry Burst, Blackberry Bliss, Aurora Lights Designer Series Paper

Accessories: window sheet, Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Light and Wonder, Die, circle die, Mini Dimensionals, Frosted Iridescent Dots

Aurora Lights 5 Panel Thank You-Sketch Challenge

Instructions:

1.Create Card Front:

-cut 5 panels out of 5" x 4 1/4" Aurora Lights DSP:

panels 1 & 5 measuring 1/4" x 3 1/2"

panels 2 & 4 measuing 1/2" x 4"

panel 3 measuring 2 1/4" x 4 1/4"

-attach a 5" x 1" strip of Balmy Blue card stock to Blackberry Bliss card base

-attach panels to card base using adhesive foam strips on panel 3, Dimensionals on panels 2 & 4, and regular adhesive on panels 1 & 5

2.Complete the Card:

-stamp greeting from Encircled with Love on Basic White card stock using Balmy Blue ink

-die-cut or punch using 1 3/4" punch, attach to 1 7/8" Blackberry Bliss mat

-attach to card front

Supplies Used:

Stamp Set: Encircled with Love

Ink: Balmy Blue

Paper: Blackberry Bliss, Basic White, Aurora Lights DSP

Accessories: 1 3/4" and 1 7/8" circle punches, Adhesive Foam Strips, Mini Dimensionals
