Turn ordinary soap and ink into something magical!
Use a straw, a few drops of ink refill, and some
bubbles to create a playful, one-of-a-kind background.
This subtle Bubble Background technique adds a pop of texture to any project!
Instructions:
1.Create soap bubble background:
-Pour bubble solution into a cup. I used the bubble solution from a wand set I had picked up for our grandkids to blow bubbles with. You could also use dish soap mixed with water.
-Add drops of reinker into the soap and mix. I did two batches. For the first, I added drops of Early Espresso ink refill. For the second, I added drops of Pretty Peacock ink refill.
-Blow bubbles with a straw until they rise above the cup.
-Scoop bubbles onto Basic White card stock, letting them sit for several seconds. Let them pop naturally or manually.
-Set the paper aside to dry completely.
The bubbles will leave subtle impressions on the card stock, perfect for creating
background paper.
2.Complete the card:
-Stamp images from Terrific Toadstools on Basic White cardstock using Early Espresso, Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon, and Mossy Meadow inks.
-Punch out the large mushroom with the Terrific Toadstools punch and fussy cut the smaller pieces.
-Die-cut or punch a circle from Basic White cardstock. Stamp a background image from Elements of Text in Early Espresso.
-Layer the mushrooms on the circle, popping up the large mushroom with Dimensionals.
-Attach the circle to the bubble background, then layer onto an Early Espresso mat and a Crumb Cake card base.
-Stamp a greeting on Crumb Cake cardstock with Early
Espresso ink, trim, and attach with Dimensionals.
-Add metallic gems to finish.
