Spotlight Technique

Looking for a fun way to make your stamped images pop? 

The Spotlight Technique is a simple but striking method that highlights just a portion of your design in full color—while leaving the rest in black and white.

 It draws the eye right where you want it! 

For these cards, I used the Coneflower Celebrations stamp set and paired one with the Sunflower Embossing Folder for added texture and dimension. 

Whether you're new to this technique or revisiting an old favorite, it's a great way to add a bold, artistic flair to your paper crafting.

The possibilities are endless!

Instructions:

Embossed Sunflower:

-emboss 2 pieces of Basic White card stock using die-cut machine and Sunflower Embossing folder

-punch or die-cut a portion of one of the images to use for the spotlight

-color spotlight piece using Blending Brushes

-attach to mat

-attach to card front image using Dimensionals, lining up the images

-attach to mat, then card base 

-add greeting to complete using Dimensionals to pop it up

Purple Coneflower:

-stamp 2 images on Basic White card stock using Memento Black ink

-punch or die-cut portion of one of the images to use for the spotlight

-color spotlight piece using Stampin' Blends or Stampin' Write Markers

-attach to mat

-attach to card front image, lining up the images

-stamp greeting using Memento Black ink

-attach card front to mat, then to card base

-add Black Matte embellishments

Ink: Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, Memento Black

Highland Heather Stampin' Blends

Paper: Basic White, Pumpkin Pie, Highland Heather, Basic Black

Accessories: Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine, Sunflower Embossing Folder, Circle and Rectangle dies, 2" circle punch, Stampin' Blends, Black Matte Dots, Mini Dimensionals
