Instructions:
Tip: I began with a 6 1/2" x 3" piece of watercolor paper. After deciding on the heart placement and completing the card front, I planned to trim it
down to a smaller size.
1.Choose a heart-shaped cookie cutter to use as your "stamp."
2.Place a piece of watercolor paper on your work or grid sheet. Then, apply a strip of washi or painter's tape across the center of the card front to serve as a mask for the greeting.
3.To determine the placement of the hearts, I stamped and cut out a sample heart to use as a template. I positioned it in three spots along the card front, marking the edges of the heart on the washi tape with a fine-tip Sharpie. These markings served as a guide for stamping with the cookie cutter.
4.Use an Aqua Painter or paintbrush to apply water along the edge of the cookie cutter.
Next, press the cookie cutter onto an ink pad (Gorgeous Grape) to pick up the color. Align the cookie cutter with the markings on the washi tape and stamp the heart onto the card front.
5. Fill the inside of the heart with color using a Water Painter or paint brush. I used Gorgeous Grape, then added Melon Mambo.
6. Repeat the
process for the remaining two hearts. I used Berry Burst for the heart on the left and a blend of Flirty Flamingo and Melon Mambo for the heart on the right.
7.To add the gold border, apply Gold Metallic Enamel Effects along the edges of the cookie cutter. Carefully stamp around each heart, then set the piece aside for a few minutes to let the gold details dry.
8. Carefully remove the washi tape mask. Stamp greeting from Sending Love using Blackberry Bliss ink.
9. Cut card front to measure 6" x 2 1/2", and attach to Blackberry Bliss mat. Attach to Basic White card base.
10. Add gold accents to complete.
